As I recently joined the list I thought my would register my current
interests. On the family side I am trying to fill out the family tree
around my ancestor David Plenderleath, son of Patrick minister of
Saline, birth date unknown but who became a minister at Dalkeith
(c1745) and then in Edinburgh, Tolbooth. His wife, maiden name
Simson, is later listed as a linen merchant in Edinburgh. Any info
appreciated, especially from Bryony who I was in touch with a year
ago but whose email address seems to have changed. As far as I know
Plenderleaths have no connection with St Mary Street!
My other and separate interest is in the inhabitants (residents and
traders) of St Mary Street off the High Street in Edinburgh, formerly
St Mary's Wynd. I am trying to build up a profile of life in the
street (incl photos if possible) for as far back as I can. Any info
welcome, especially re number 24, including on emigration and on
mobility.
With best wishes to all
