Hello from Ottawa, Canada

I'm trying to sort out relationships in the Robertson, Hunter and McLaren families I'm searching.

My g grandmother Margaret (Maggie) Robertson married James Wallace in 1891. The marriage certificate states her parents to be Andrew Robertson and Agnes Hunter. At that time Maggie was 22 and her parents were both deceased.

Relatives tell me that Agnes was married previously - to a McLaren.

I can find Maggie in the 1891 census just before her marriage and at that time she was living with Grace McLaren age 30 and Mary? McLaren age 28 in Edinburgh at 143 Lauriston Place. All are listed as being born in Edinburgh but so far I haven't hit their birth certificates using Scotlands People.

I can find an Agnes Hunter who married a Thomas McLaren - and had a number of children in WestLothian (Whitburn). There is even a Margaret among them -- but older than Margaret Robertson. I haven't hit upon marriage details for Agnes Hunter McLaren and Andrew Robertson despite a considerable amount of searching. I know that another Hunter family is related -- David Hunter and wife Agnes Shiell Raeburn married in 1867 and had 10-12 children -- youngest in 1890. I'm not clear on the relationship at this point between that family and the one I'm looking for but know that a Harold Hunter - their youngest was probably a cousin of my father's.

Anyone searching those names that might help demystify things for me? If anyone has the 1881 and could look for Maggie or Margaret Robertson at age 12 or so I'd be interested in finding out who she was living with (Andrew/Agnes) -- or McLarens. I tried on ScotlandsPeople but didn't check all the possibilities because of the number.
