Dorothy G - My apologies for leading you on.....I should have further
explained that I have access to films for marriages beginning with Civil
Registration only.

These films start with 1855. Before that you have to know the
particular church they were registered in. Each church kept its own
Parish Books. Some were filmed, seems most were not, but you have to
know the church to even hope to find them. The local FHC doesn't have
any films for Edinburgh before 1855. - Meg G
