I have an Alexander Cockburn b 1823 marrying Mary SYMINGTON b 1821 in
1847 in Crichton. I have found them in the1871 census and wonder if
anyone has access to earlier census records or the parish records for
Crichton and could do a look-up for me. I ordered the 1861 film from
the LDS library but the Crichton section was virtually unreadable. I
would be interested in knowing who else was living with them as they had
a nephew Robert YOUNG with them in 1871 but I can not attribute them
with any children of their own. Mary died in 1890 and Alexander in 1898.

In 1871 George BRIDGES b 1819 was nearby in Crichton too. Wife Mary
(NEILSON) b 1816 appears to have died or is absent from the house by then.

I assume that some or all of the above may be buried in Crichton if
anyone has MIs.
