The Edinburgh and Leith Post Office Directory for 1884-85 shows this
street to be in Registration District No 5 (Newington).

>1884 - Royal Park Terrace, Edinburgh

The same directory shows this to be in Registration District No 3
(Canongate).

Note that districts changed over time, and it's possible that the 1884-85
directory doesn't properly reflect the situation at the time of your
queries.

See
http://listsearches.rootsweb.com/cgi-bin/ifetch2?/u1/textindices/M/MIDLOTHIAN+2004+185376903+F
for a message I sent to the Midlothian Mailing List in March 2004 which
has a list of Registry Offices.

A copy of this has been sent direct for speed!
