Hi Edinburgh Listers,

An ancestor, Rebecca McINTOSH (nee CAMERON) died 3 Feb 1959 at 1 Glenlochart
Road, Edinburgh. She was the widow of James McINTOSH, Railway Engine Driver,
who died 24 Feb 1931 in Edinburgh.

A friend on this List has kindly looked for a will for Rebecca in the
National Archives of Scotland but no will was found so it appears that
Rebecca died inestate.

When another ancestor of mine, Catherine Aitken STEVENSON (nee JOHNSTONE)
died inestate in 1957 in Edinburgh, a statement was compiled by solicitors
L. and J. McLaren W.S., 14 Alva Street, Edinburgh 2, dated 22 June 1958,
detailing distribution of the estate to the families of Catherine's brothers
(she had no children herself). I have a copy of this statement.

My question is: Are copies of such inestate records also stored in a public
depository?

Thanks,

John Johnston
