Dear Norma

Thanks for that information, which is all new to me.

I do have Katherine OFFICER, who was the wife of Margaret Fowler SIMSON's
eldest brother Robert SIMSON. Katherine OFFICER and Robert SIMSON married
in 1851 in Hobart, Tasmania according to the IGI.

I have one LUKE in my tree: James LUKE, farmer of Muircambus Mill. Married
to Janet SIMSON (daughter of Robert SIMSON and Janet RUSSELL) who died on 9
Nov 1791 at Kilrenny. Janet SIMSON was the sister Robert SIMSON, the father
of Margaret Fowler SIMSON.

What is your connection? My direct line is through the CARSTAIRS and
RUSSELL families. There seem to have been lots of intermarrying between
various families in Fife (and in Australia): CARSTAIRS, LESLIE, RUSSELL,
SIMSON, DRYSDALE, GOSMAN. Do any of these names mean anything to you?

Regards,

Helen
