Is anyone on this list connected with or doing research on the GARDINER
family who lived in Milngavie and Anniesland?
My grandfather was Joseph Nicholson GARDINER born in 1858 in Dunblane, Per.
he died 1928 in Hillhead.
He married Janet A. MORRIS born 1850 in St. Andrews, Fife. They were married
in 1885 in Glasgow. They had three daughters.
Joseph is listed as an Engine fitter [journeyman] when he worked at the
mills at Bridge of Earn, then as a Waterman when at the waterworks at
Milngavie and Anniesland. They lived at"Waterworks Cottage" which I believe
no longer exists.
I would be very interested if anyone has more details about that area of
Glasgow in the 1980s- 1920s.
