Subject: Angus McDonald of Moidart, Kinlochmoidart, Inverness-shire "Estate of W. Robertson" 1840-1852 "Allison" to Geelong, December 1852

The "Angus McDonald family" came from Kinlochmoidart in Inverness-shire -
the estate of W. Robertson Esq, along with 3 other "McDonald
families" from the W. Robertson Estate. The 4 McDonald families were all
on the ship "Allison" to Geelong VIC, Australia arriving in December
1852. Also 4 families were Roman Catholic.
They the "Angus McDonald family" were in the 1851 census at Kinlochmoidart.
My questions are:
1. I would like to find the Parents and Siblings of "Angus McDonald"
2. Has anyone got any record of the Highland and Isles Emigration Scheme
that may have taken them to Australia?
3. Is Kinlochmoidart a town or a Parish or a district?
4. Is Moidart a town or a Parish or a district?
5. Has anyone any records of the "W. Robertson estate in Kinlochmoidart"
they all would have worked on?
6. What type of estate would it have been and what were their jobs there,
Crofting?
7. Have Moidart and Kinlochmoidart got a Catholic Church or parish there?

the list. It has enhanced my very limited knowledge of my Scottish origins.

Appeared in Scottish Census (LDS) 1851.
Shipping record - "Allison" arr. Melbourne 20 Dec 1852 but was quarantined
until 8 Feb 1853.
Angus was 55 years, RC, could not read or write.
Engaged by Manky&Parker of Goulburn River for 100 pounds. Goulburn River is
in the north of Victoria a long way from Geelong.
"Allison" shipping indent lists age as 48, unable to read or write. RC.
Mary McPhee b1804c was born in Co. Clare, Ireland.
