Hello all,

Hope you had a great Xmas, and here's hoping the hangover will cease to
exist before the new year festivities ; )

A very kind gent managed to decipher a poor copy of a marriage certificate
for me which indicated that Kenneth McKenzie came from Brae (Braes) of Ord
and his wife to be Janet McKenzie was from Balloan, both in the county of
Ross and Cromarty.

I can find lots of Braes, and I can find a few Ords, but not Braes of Ord.
Is this a place, ie area, or is it a place, ie residence.

Has anyone come across any of these two before and maybe shed some light on
them, perhaps you might have a picture.

Incidentally, does anyone know the meaning of Brae (Braes)

Many thanks and all the very best

Alan Mackenzie
