Hello there!
Your Mary Ann Swan seems to be with her mother, Mrs Grant from Knockando, in
Edinburgh in the 1881 census for GB.

First here are all the possible Donald Swans born before 1830, but nowhere
in GB is there a Donald Swan born in Ross and Cromarty, so perhaps dead by
1881.

To check 1) Donald Freaser in Fleenas Cottage, perhaps you should go to 1871
and 1861 censi and find out who this cottage belonged to, also who could
have been the Fraser farmer grand-uncle.

However, the good news is that the Grants of Knockando were a big family and
there should be information somewhere about whom the grand-daughter Mary Ann
married.

There are also many other Donald Frasers born earlier and later than I
haven't copied out from the census.

Anyhow, you can go on searching at leisure!

Could an SKS please take pity on a cranky old curmudgeon and check any
resource which you may have access to, to be able to identify the
William Fraser noted below. I think that I have just about all I
can find on him and his wife.

Working backwards from the 1891 census, to 1881, etc...?
Some sort of MI for the Nairn area?
Any sort of birth registration?
Whatever, I'm desperate! I did some reverse engineering on the
batch file C111301 and came up with a bunch of Frasers reg'd
in Drainie, if anyone is interested, off-line for the list of 19.

This may be the person but I have no frame of reference to assist.
