Hello Sharon,

I can not speak for the practice in Scotland, however, in England
a "glebe" is a piece of land that is / was owned by the Church of England.

This has resulted in many domiciles being named: The Glebe,
Glebe House, Glebe Cottage, Glebe Farm, Glebe Parsonage.

The ecclesiastical connection may be rather tenuous though.

Best regards,
Iain Rogers, Hong Kong, China

is listed as Buirblach or Glebe. I have tried to find this place but came up
empty. Could it be a farm or house name instead of a town? Any help will be
appreciated.
