Hello
This chart may baffle some but it was the only way that I could
put them down and understand it better myself.
My "Thanks" for much of this goes to Elizabeth in Inverness as
it is a very new line for me and Elizabeth sure got me started.
If anyone can add or amend anything to this family, I would
appreciate hearing. I must now have more cousins out there
somewhere. This Rev. Ewen MacQueen is looking like one of my
8X g-grandfathers, Wow.
I do have some of the wives names but just tried to get a picture of
this part for now. Still not sure it is all correct.
Thank You Lorraine Ottawa, Canada
------------------------------------------------------
Rev. Ewen MacQueen of Duirinish (b. abt 1580) had sons
1. - Rev. Angus MacQueen (abt 1610) minister of North Uist then
South Uist
2. - Rev. Archibald MacQueen (abt 1615) minister of Snizort
--------------------------------
Refer #2 above
3. - Archibald had a son Rev. Angus (abt 1650) minister of Sleat
------------------------------
Refer #3 above
4. - Angus had a son Rev Donald (abt 1690) minister of Small Isles
then North Uist
and a Son Rev. Edmund MacQueen - minister of Sleat
and a Dau Margaret MacQueen - mar. Roderick McLeod
and a Dau Mary MacQueen - mar. Alexander McLeod
and a Son James MacQueen ??? (Could he by chance be a
William instead ???)
-------------------------------
Refer #4 above
Donald had sons Allan (abt 1740) & Edmund (abt 1742)
5. - Rev. Allan MacQueen - minister of North Uist
6. - Rev. Edmund MacQueen - minister of Barra
There seems to be a daughter here also that married a John McLean.
-----------------------------------
Refer #5 above
Rev. Allan MacQueen had children
7. Mary MacQueen in 1783
8. Donald MacQueen in 1784
----------------------
Refer #6 above
Rev Edmund MacQueen had children
9. Marion MacQueen in 1791 - mar. Dr Murdoch MacLeod (Jr)
10. Donald MacQueen in 1794 - surgeon - died in Jamaica
11. Ewen MacQueen in 1795
12. Charles MacQueen in 1803- from 2nd marriage
--------------------------------------
There are still 2 that I cannot fit in for sure.
Rev. William MacQueen of Snizort and his son Rev. James MacQueen
of North Uist. If James was born about 1762 as the book says, that
would have his father, William, born about 1720+.
Could that James (son of Angus) maybe be William instead. ???
