Do you have any record of a McPherson family with brothers James, born about 1746-1751, and John? I do not know if John was older or younger than James. These brothers joined the 82nd (Duke of Hamilton's Regiment) and went with that Regiment to Halifax, Nova Scotia in 1779, subsequently fighting in the American Revolution. The brothers were granted land in Pictou Co, N.S. in 1783 and settled there. James obit describes him as "a native of Badenoch, Invernesshire".
James McPherson's wife was named Isabel, last name unknown. I don't know if they were married in Scotland or Nova Scotia.
Any help would be much appreciated.
