Looking for information on
PETER FRASER (born about 1770, Inverness) to Alexander/Mary FRASER.

Peter ends up in Canada, where he marries Marie Josephte CHASSE 14 March 1801 and dies about 1820 in L'Isle Verte, Que.

Family legend indicates that Peter was a soldier who came over with the British military, married a local girl, and stayed in Canada.

I'd like to try to confirm his military service, identify his regiment, when it went to Canada, and found out more about his Scottish lineage.

His parent's names come from the marriage repertoire of St. Jean Baptiste, L'Isle Verte. The PRO Scotland has a birth record for a Peter Fraser from Inverness with corresponding parent's names, so I think I may have confirmed his birthdate. But I would appreciate any suggestions on how/where to look for additional Scottish information.

Thanks in advance.
