I recall reading somewhere that one of the roots of the name MORRISON was
as a translation of Gaelic MacVORRAN. However, on consulting all my
reference books I can not find this, and am beginning to doubt it. Can
anyone confirm or dispell this for me?

Duncan MCNABB married Grace MORRISON in Islay, probably 1810-1820, and
emigrated with their children in 1852, for Canada. I can not locate a
marriage record for them, but have found one in IGI for Duncan MCNABB and
Grace MacVORAN on 31 Jan 1816 in Kildalton.

Would SKS advise me where is Kildalton? And does anyone have any
information about this couple?
