Hi Peggy,
What an exciting time you must have had. My husband and I can't wait to go
to Islay, when he retires in a couple of years.
Did you go to the Round Church in Bowmore? my husbands second cousin Rev
DONALD CURRIE CASKIE, and family are buried there. The Rev Donald was quite
famous for his work in France during WWll, helping Downed Allied Servicemen
escape over the Pyrenees into Spain by setting up the British and American
Seaman's Mission in Marseilles. There is a book about him called "The Tartan
Pimpernel" have you read it? He also worked for years in the Scots Kirk
Paris.
I would love to hear further stories of your trip.
Nice to hear from you.
Regards from Brisbane Australia.
