Subject: [SCT-ISLAY] Sinclair-Torrie Families of Islay

Toni Sinclair, I have seen several of your postings relative to Islay and at
least one reference to Ballaytarsin farm. I know that a Sinclair family
lived at Ballytarsin (Baltarsain etc.) because on April 15, 1796, November
24, 1797, November 16, 1799, June 27, 1802, March 7, 1805 and April 20, 1812
there were baptisms for children of John Torrie and Ann or Nancy Sinclair
(Sincalair) recorded in the Argyll, Bowmore and Killarow parish. They lived
at Ballytarsin. Are you connected with this Sinclair family? If so do you
have any information on John Torrie or the children of this (these)
marriage(s)?

I visited Islay in July of this year and drove by the old Ballytarsain farm
with the Paps of Jura prominent in the distance. It is a beautiful part of
Scotland. Thanks for any help you can provide with this query.

try to get my copy back from my sister-in-law who borrowed it. I don't
