Bit of a coincidence in names in last listing between Bakers and Cornabus.
Cornabus is a farm near to Port Ellen which I remember was farmed by the
Bakers. The Bakers were quite a large family and still some of them live in
Port Ellen. One of the daughters was also an Esther Baker who died a few
years ago. The name Esther is not that common on Islay. I have a family
connection through marriage to the Bakers in that my sisters is mother-in-law
is one of the Bakers from Cornabus so will try to find out some more.
