Just a short message. I had a FANTASTIC time on Islay - it would take
me hours to tell you all. Even with 12 days on Islay, I still did not
get everything done I had hoped and every day was jammed packed full.
We had wonderful weather with mostly sunshine - a couple of days we
even went without jackets! We hiked the Ardnave, the Oa, around
Kilchoman and around Bridgend.
I am busily trying to get life back to order and in addition my
husband goes to hospital on Friday so I do not know when I will be
contributing or sharing with you. I know there are a couple of you
awaiting answers to questions you left me and I will do my best to
answer you directly. Please be patient.
We are barely home and already talking about our NEXT visit *BIG
GRIN* - I know it won't be for several years but I'm already Islay
dreamin' again! My husband just left to pick up the pictures (only
took 15 rolls this time - *laughing out loud*) - wish I could show
them to you all. I tried to take pictures of many of the 'townships"
and present day farms. That is one thing I learned that I didn't
realize before...here in Ontario, a township is a large area that can
incorporate many villages/towns but in Scotland a township was a group
of houses/cottages and smaller than one of our villages.
Cheerio
Sue
