Hi Tom
In 1987 I corresponded with Jill Jamieson of Woodstock regarding our Catherine Bells. Jill had put a query in SCAN (Simcoe County Ancestor News) in
November 1986.
I have found her original query, her reply and handdrawn pedigree chart in my old correspondence binders.
[You have no idea what a feat that was unless you know me and my current filing system chaos].
I have combined the info and quoted from them below.
Catherine Ann Bell [born Islay c. 1809 - parish unknown] married Archibald McColeman c. 1827 [probably] Islay.
Children:
Alexander b. ca. 1828 Islay
Katherine (Katie) b. ca. 1830 Islay
Mary born & buried at sea c. 1831.
John b. 1834 Nottawasaga Twp. Simcoe Co.
Neil Bell McColeman born 15 May [1841] is her ancestor.
"Catherine died 1849 and apparently was buried at Duntroon - family members said she & Archie had a store there, ..."
Archibald McColeman b. 1800 Islay Scotand (s/o John & Catherine?) died c. 1886 Stayner, Nottawasaga Twp. Simcoe Co. Ontario.

Keep in mind this is info from 1987. Perhaps Jill has made more progress in the meantime. I'm sure she would be pleased to hear from you, if you
don't already correspond. Let me know off list and I will send you her last known address.
