Subject: [SCT-ISLAY] McDOUGAL(L) = RAMSAY
Date: Tue, 9 Jan 2001 08:34:24 -0800
Dear listers,
I'm looking for more information on two Scots who probably married on
Islay, and later came to Nottawasaga Twp., Simcoe County, Ontario, Canada,
between 1843-48. They were John McDOUGAL(L) and Mary RAMSAY. They had at
least 2 girls, Christina (abt. 1835) and Janet (abt. 1836) in Scotland;
both of them married in Simcoe Co.
So many Nottawasaga Scots were from Islay that it seems a good chance these
folks are from there as well. I can find no substantiating records in the
OPR. Does anyone have more knowledge of marriage date and origins of the
names above?
Thanks,
Tom Parkin
