Seeking descendants of Margaret Barr who was born circa 1810 at Pt. Glasgow, Renfrewshire. According to LDS records when she married Archibald Ferguson in 1837 she was living at Gruinart, Islay and he was living at Foreland, Islay. Margaret Barr's parents were James Barr of Port Glasgow and Katie McDermid of Argyllshire. Archibald's parents were John Ferguson and Marion Campbell.
Other information also found in LDS records "14-Aug-1838, James Barr in Gruinart & Flora McEachen in Linail? were legally proclaimed and married". Could this be Margaret Barr's brother?
Also found in LDS records "04-Nov-1823, Andrew Taylor in Sunderland and Martha Barr in Gruinart have been legally proclaimed and married". Could this be Margaret Barr's sister? In the late 1840's Martha & Margaret befriend each other in Ontario Canada.
I also am hoping to find any information on a Jessie Ferguson who was the daughter of John Ferguson and Marion Campbell and she may have been born between 1810 & 1825 period. She may have married a person named Peter McLellan.
Also Annie Ferguson who was a daughter of John & Marion born in the same time period who may have married a Neil Brown.
Also Betsy Ferguson who was a daughter of John & Marion born in the same time period who may have married a Malcolm Curry(ie).
If you are researching Barr's or Ferguson's in Kilchoman Parish, Isle of Islay I would be glad to hear from you.
