David,
Was this the right couple? or just a coincidence that the names are the same
(which DOES happen!)
"Home District" used to be a wide area around Toronto, before the population
was great enough to become a municipality of their own.
Victoria Co, was previously part of the Home Dist., Northumberland Dist.,
Durham and I think part of Peterborough District. When you are looking up
early records in Ontario, you might have to check all of these out!

Thanks Toni. Like you I think 1831 may be early and Isabella may well have
been born on Islay. I am hunting there.
