Hi,

I'm still at a lose end with the MCPHIE family from Kilchoman. Has
anyone come across any births, deaths or marriages for any MCPHIE
children on Islay from the family of Marrion SHAW and Malcolm MCPHIE?
It may be that they left the island very early on for Alloa,
Clackmannanshire and were married somewhere else before they came to
Islay, but I had hoped to confirm this.

My data indicates a marriage sometime around 1800 between Marrion SHAW
and Malcolm MCPHIE (born circa 1780). Known son Archibald MCPHIE b.
August 1804. Archibald's immigration records indicate native places as
Kilchoman, Islay, however on checking the Scots Origin records, I have
been unable to identify any combination of these names that would give
me any leads. Archibald immigrated to Australia in 1848 with wife Janet
GENTLES (from Alloa, Clackmannanshire). Children, mostly born in
Clackmannanshire were as follows:

Marion
Janet
Elizabeth
Jean
