Hi Dean and others:
There was a group from Islay that went to North Carolina in about 1820.
Some went on from there to Victoria county, Ontario in a few years.One was
a Charles Gilchrist (he stayed in North Carolina). I have part of his
family traced but may have to go there to get more information on them.
