Kathy,
I saw your message on both Lanark and Islay Lists. Since CURRIE is a common
name on Islay, I would suspect not that your family "had relocated to Islay
at some point", but that they had originated there.
I note that your earliest sources seem to be the IGI. Remember that IGI is
only a secondary source, and often unreliable. I suggest that you follow the
clues in the IGI and try to find the OPR records for your family's marriage
and births. These may give you more detail and either confirm or refute the
IGI information.
