Here's a little MacIver/Campbell info from my "archives":

From "Account of the Clan Iver" by Rev. P.J. Campbell in an old issue of the
Celtic Monthly (sorry, my ancient photocopy has no date): " The MacIvers of
Argyllshire began to assume the name of CAMPBELL in the late 1500's." My
branch went to Caithness at that time and assumed the old form of MacIver -
"IVERACH." By the mid 1600's some IVERACHS were expelled from Caithness and
they, too, assumed the name CAMPBELL. I believe all the IVERACHS in Canada,
Australia and New Zealand are descended from members of my
great-grandfather's family who emigrated from the Halkirk area during the
1860's-1880's. I don't know of any IVERACHS who went to South Carolina and
sadly, there are only a few left in all of Scotland.

settled in Charleston, SC about 1788 with his wife in children. They were
listed on the 1790 census for St. Bartholomew Parish. On the census his name
was listed as Edward Campbell. I think that perhaps that some of his
brother's may have migrated with him, but this is still unproven at this
time. There was a Peter Campbell living near him when he later moved north
and lived along the Pee Dee River in the Old Marion District, SC and there
is some speculation they were related. His wife, Mary McLellan died there
about 1816 and was buried in McDuffie Cemetery.
> About 1819 he migrated to northwest Florida with his oldest son, Charles
Campbell, born 1780 in Scotland, Charles's wife, Nancy McEachern, and two of
his three daughters, Mary Campbell, her husband John McColl (McCall),
Christian Campbell who was unmarried(One daughter died very young). He
youngest son, Daniel Campbell, born about 1786 in Scotland also relocated to
Florida about 1830 upon his father request. Daniel Campbell married an
unknown and had three daughter. He brought the daughter with him to Florida,
but his wife must have already died. In Florida married Christian McMillan
and they had about six children. Edward's second son, Duncan, born about
1782 in Scotland remained in Marion District, SC, where he married Margaret
McEachern, the sister of Nancy McEachern.
> All the records I have found on Edward Campbell after he migrated to
America lists him as Edward or Ed. I was hoping that Iver or McIver may be a
link to him in Scotland. "
