Hello Scott,
I just happened to be looking at information from Wellington county and my
eyes twitched when I saw this (Extracts from the Guelph Daily Mercury "Minto
township", as sent by Sue Visser to the list way back on 2 March, 2001:

John McMillan, a native of Islay, Scotland, and a carpenter by trade, whose
family came to Ancaster in 1831, and settled in Nassagaweya in 1838, came to
Minto in 1860, and settled on Lot 16, Concession A. Mr. and Mrs. McMillan
lived retired in Harriston, since 1903 after a successful career on the
farm. the family are: christina and Katie, twins; John; Annie; Neil';
William; Malcolm, on the homestead; Hugh; and Mary.

They must be related to your McMillans somehow!
