Hello John
There is a free Excel viewer available from Microsoft. With it you can open,
read and print Excel files, but you cannot add to or edit them. It always
works well for me.

The address is very long so I will not try to reproduce it. Try entering
"microsoft excel viewer" as a phrase into a search engine; I used Google and
it was the first result on the page.
