The parishes of Kilfinichen and Kilviceon have existed for 1000 years. They
were combined as an administrative district into the parish of Kilfinichen and
Kilviceon in the 17th century. All records prior to 1804 have been lost and all
that now remains are two parish registers covering the period from 1804-1854.
<Also, there are numerous records listed under Tyree

<What was the relationship between Mull and Tyree.
<Did people move back and forth frequently OR

Tyree has no peat bogs, so every year since who-knows-when the people of Tyree
would come to the Ross of Mull to cut peats for their winter's fuel supply.
There was a lot of movement between the peoples of the two
islands--intermarriages, etc. In the 1800's when the Duke of Argyll arranged
transportation of people from his lands to North America, often the ships
carried people from both Tyree and the Ross of Mull.
