Can anyone help with the following? John and Sarah are supposed to be from
Mull but I have no info on their parish, parents, or siblings. They came to
Canada with the help of Lord Selkirk leaving Scotland in either 1803 or
1804. I just want to make some connection back to family in Scotland!

JOHN MACDOUGALL was born 1754 in Argyllshire,Scotland, and died 1806 in
Baldoon, Kent Co. ON. He married SARAH MCPHERSON.

McDonell Papers Vol. IX Aug. 27, 1805 "Old John McDougall died. I am utterly
at a loss as to what to do with widow and children of three men who died
this summer, they have left large families of helpless children."

Selkirk Papers Vol. 54 pp 14499-15000 15 Jan 1809 - With the exception of
three or four families they are the most drunken, quarrelsome, sponging,
indolent, of any people in Upper Canada. I have repeatedly made up
differences between them, but finding there is no end to their frays I have
at length done what I persevere in doing, bind them over to the quarter
sessions at Sandwich. The McDougalls are pre-eminent at pugilistic exploits
and the author of most broils, particularly Allan who is a worthless fellow,
and who has been the cause, that seven besides himself, made appearance at
last Quarter session lately.
