Hi Everyone,
This is my first message to this list, so here goes with my list of
ancestors:

The following is taken from "Memoirs of Clan Fingon" by Rev. Donald D.
MacKinnon, pg. 187:

Lachlan Mor MACKINNON, 28th Chief of MacKinnon Clan was married twice.

His second wife was a Miss MacLeod of MacLeod. They had one son who is
known as John of Mishinish.

John married Anne, only daughter of Donald, 14th Chief of the Macdonalds of
Clanranald (Captain of Clanranald). Anne was from his second marriage to
Margaret, daughter of John MacKenzie of Kildun. By here he had several
daughters whose names have been lost and three sons: 1. John 2. Ranald and
3. Donald.....

.... John of Mishinish resided at the family estate of that name in the
northrern part of the Island of Mull. He is said to have died there circa.
1759.....

John, his eldest son, became an Ensign in the old Black Watch (42nd
Regiment) and exchanged into the 77th Montgomerie's Highlanders his
commission as Lieutenant in that corps bearing date 16 September 1758.

Okay, here is what I am looking for:
1. What is Lachlan Mor's date of birth?
2. Who is this daughter of MacLeod of MacLeod? Moir? Marion?
3. When did John and Anne MacDonald marry?
4. Any dates of birth for their children John, Ranald and Donald?
5. Any names of the daughters of John and Anne?

That's all for this posting. Next posting will be regarding 1st and 2nd
marriage of John, eldest son of John and Anne MacDonald.

I'm hoping to learn more about and connect with any descendants of these
MacKinnons who remained in Scotland.

Thank you.
