Dear Judy and other listers;

I think it would be wonderful if you posted your listings from PEI
newspapers of obituaries of people originating in Mull. I realize, of
course, that this will be incomplete, but will almost certainly be of
help to someone out there. There are an amazing number of PEI newspapers
to go through, and it is always a slow job.

What you mentioned in your comments about tombstones, is also true about
obituaries. Individuals who came from Mull are often identified as
being from Argyle or from Scotland, rather than specifically from Mull.
In addition, in my searches of PEI newspapers, I found that many early
obituaries were very brief, and in many cases, no obituary was published
at all when an individual died.

Judy, do you have the cemetery transcription for the Canoe Cove
Presbyterian Cemetery? My Charles MacKinnon, son of Charles the Bard
MacKinnon, is supposed to be buried there, and in 1939 there was a
tombstone there. On my most recent visit, which was in 1988, I was
unable to find his tombstone, but wondered if it might be on the list?
