Hi All,
As from today Friday 7th September, the Oban Times is going on-line. The
Oban Times is the major circulation 'local' newspaper for Argyll, Lochaber,
The Highlands and the Western Isles. It therefore covers news from Mull and
will be useful for those who wish to keep up todate with Mull events. The
address is www.obantimes.co.uk
On Tuesday evening we went to a production of Para Handy in the UK's
smallest professional theatre at Dervaig which seats just 44. In the
programme one of the actors said that she was trying to trace her roots. I
have traced what could well be her gg-grandmother in the 1881 census but I
wonder if any of you might have some further information that I can pass on
to her. The entry is as follows :-
Dwelling: Shore Street
Census Place: Kilninian & Kilmore, Argyll, Scotland

Weather continues to be very mixed. Those that have been to Mull will know
the saying that 'if you cannot see the hills - its raining, if you can see
the hills - it will be raining in five minutes'. At this moment, I can see
some of the hills across the Sound of Mull so I guess that it will be
raining in five minutes.
All the best,
Ian
