I was in Register House in Edinburgh today, and I had taken your query with
me in case I had a moment among between my own 127 queries. I did a computer
search, and there was no McKinvin born in Iona for 20 years around your
date. Tried Mac and also ven. There are lots of McKinvens, but not in Iona
or Mull. They are almost all in Campbeltown. I trawled through 20 years on
either side of your date - NOTHING ! Sorry, but what else can one do ? Even
just put in for a female birth without putting in any Christian names, in
case that very impressive array of names were in a different order, but
still nothing. One or two Flora McKinvens in Kintyre, but that was all. You
will have to give us some good reasons for the belief she was born in Iona
