Subject: [Mull] Drawing - Moy Castle?

Hi Stuart -
Thanks for posting the drawing to the List. Judging from my mail you've
sparked lots of interest. Perhaps like me you've heard from others who
think they can identify it? I've heard from 4 or 5 folk who think (like me)
that it's Moy Castle. But I don't know the island well enough to state it
categorically!
Perhaps one of the Mull Walks writers?
Certainly Moy Castle is an interesting spot, and easy to get to - close to
beautiful LochBuie House. A few people asked me about it's history and I
found another website with details -
http://www.caledoniancastles.co.uk/castles/strathclyde/moy.htm
It says - "Formerly known as Lochbuie Castle, Moy is the ancient seat of
the MacLaines of Lochbuie, an unruly branch of the MacLeans of Duart".
Moy Castle has a dramatic history, that includes the story of Ewen of the
Little Head (which he lost).
