Hi All,
What a week.
I've had a good week and made progress with my mothers line. I now know
where in Kilpatrick (Duart) my mother is interred. I have been trying to
locate the liars (plots) for many years but one of those chance remarks
opened the doors (so to speak).
When I first came to Mull in 1959 I was introduced to the two ferrymen and
was told that they were relatives. I thought these were 'scottish relatives'
i.e. third cousins, twice removed but I have now established that both were
uncles. By chance again whilst flicking though books I can across a picture
of them both in their ferry boat.
On Tuesday evening I attended a meeting with Elaine Robinson and
representatives of local organisations helping with MUGG 2006. A
comprehensive programme is taking shape but I will leave Elaine to tell you
all about that.
During Tuesday I met up with list members Peter & Adrianne Rumens from
Christchurch, New Zealand. We went round the whole of the coast roads and
across to Iona.
On Wednesday I met up with list member Karl Mckinley from Alberta, Canada
for a coffee. Today Saturday I'm due to meet another list member Ellen
Sturgeon from Essex, England.
Last night I gave my talk to the Mull Historical Society which was based on
the MullGenealogy website and genealogical resources to be found on the
internet. Attended by approximately 20. I like to think that it when down
well.
It's the Mull Mod today so I might well have a look see.
Ian
