Garnet,
That Hector sounds a very likely answer to my query since earlier Ardfinaig
was where Hector Hugh's relatives lived. I would be very interested to
know what happened to Hector. Hector Hugh's son would have been born from
memory about 1818, but if he was now being counted as a son it is likely
that they took two years off his age when giving the census info.
Can anyone help with date for the marriage of Catherine McGilvra and Chas
McEachern?
I'll check the dates a bit more car3efully and get back to you. Meantikme
Brian McLean might be interested also as his relatives were at Ardfinaig.
Jean

Re: Natural son Hector born to Hector Hugh McLean and Catherine McGillvra
I have a gggrandmother Catherine McGillvra married to Chas McEachern. In
the 1841 Census they lived at Ardfinaig farm with the following children.
Hector 20, Dugald 15, Neil 14, Mary10, Catherine 3. I do not know when Chas
and Catherine were married or when exactly Hector their son was born.
It has been suggested by someone in the past(maybe Jean that Hector was
Hector McLeans natural born son) Any help or if any one bumps into this
please let me know.
