Had hoped that I might journey from Mull River cape Breton to Isle
of Mull gathering but too many obstacles at that time - i feel
quite bereft - but I am hoping that some people there ahd an
interest in the MacPharlains/MacFarlanes - I beleive that Peter
was the nme of the father of Peter MacPharlain who drowned in the
sound of Mull in 1782 on the night that my grt grt grandfather Parlan
MacPharlain was born. The tradition is that the body was recovered
and the widow, Mary (Gregor) MacPharlain walked with the baby in her
arms to the burial (rare in those days for woman to attend such an
event). I am unsure whether or not Mary accompanied her two sons
Peter (born 1780 ) and Parlan to Nova Scotia in 1820 nor do I know
if there were sisters but I am inclined to think that there was one at
least married to a MacColl. Where there people there in search of
MacPharlain/MacFarlane connections? Jim St.Clair, MacFarlane Farm,
