Hi Goldie,

I don't know what was done in other parts of Scotland to identify the 1715 Rebels and document their disarmament. The book that we have been talking about only covers Movern, Ardnamurchan, and the "Inner Isles". Among the Isles were Mull, Tiree, and Coll at least.

I'm afraid I don't have a copy of the book handy to see which other Isles were included. I also can't remember if this was a Duke of Argyll's census or not.

Maybe someone who has current access to the book ("Inhabitants of the Inner Isles Morvern & Ardnamurchan 1716" ed. Nicholas Mclean-Bristol, 1998) could do a look up and post a complete list of the areas that are covered by this census as well as who ordered/carried out the census?

Thanks,
