Last week, the subject of King James V1 of Scotland came up on one of the
lists, however it may be of interest to others. I mentioned that the author
Nigel Tranter had many books on Scottish History, with some fiction novels
based on historical fact. I mentioned I had read one about the McGregors and
their dealings with King James, but I could not remember the name. I have
since borrowd it from our library, and the name is Children of the Mist.
ISBN 0-340-55898-9, first published in Britain in 1992 by Hodder and
Stoughton. Highly recommended, and gives an account of how the Scottish
Highland Clans and the Lowland occupants regarded each other.
