John Dickson the 6th child of Samuel and Janet McKnight married Jane (Jean) Wilson 27 May 1832 in Troqueer. They had 8 kids
Samuel Dickson b 1833 Troqueer m Janet Hudson came to Canada before 1851 census
James Dickson b 1835 Troqueer
Andrew McNaughton Dickson b 1836 birth record shows Penpont but census says Troqueer
John Dickson b 1839 Troqueer
Robert Dickson b 1843 Troqueer
William Dickson b 1846 Penpont Dumfries
Thomas Dickson b 1849 Penpont Dumfries
Mary Dickson b 1870 is in the 1881 census living with John and listed as daughter, but I think it should be
grand daughter.
John died 1891 in Penpont. His son John signed his death registration. The oldest son Samuel lived in Ont Canada until
after the 1881 census, he then moved to Minnesota in the US then back to Sask. Canada. I found one of his descendants
who had traced their family. I live about 30 miles from a 5th cousin. No research has been done on the other children.
