I am researching the John Stodhart/Elizabeth Steuart family that was living
in Cardrona in the 1790s. For some reason, they attended the Innerleithen
church instead of the one at Traquair. John was described as a "ploughman"
on the baptismal record for son Robert in 1802. Would that mean he was a
farm worker for a landowner, or would that he was a farmer himself?

Can anyone tell me about the town of Cardrona? Also what does Cardrona Mains
mean? I have seen Mains in the name of other towns also.
