David, This sounds very promising. My fathers name is John (born John wood) and he was adopted by my grandfather william M(a)cnair when he was a baby. Can you tell me the date that your grandmother's son was born? If your grandmother is also my grandmother then i'm very sad that she has passed away and that I never got the chance to know her. It seems as though we may have a new branch of family. Please let me know of any other information that could tie all this together. Where did your grandmother live when she had her son?
