Thanks Jack and oh dear! I don't think this can be my James now <sob! sob!>
According to the marriage certificate of my James SWAN & Janet ROBERTSON,
they married on 20 October 1871 at 47 Broomland Street, Paisley, Scotland.
His parents were David SWAN, shawl weaver and Isabella PAUL. Janet's parents
were James ROBERTSON, slater, and Janet SCOTT.
BUT get this!
Their address was SEVENTY-THREE Canal Street, so surely there has to be some
connection??? Do you think it possible this is the same James, but that he
was previously married to Janet Scott before Agnes COWAN?
Any information you have would be greatly appreciated as this is the one
branch of my family I've not been able to move at all. I'm sorry I can't
offer you any further information as so far we've not found a marriage for
James and Janet ROBERTSON.
Every Blessing,
Christine (in rainy, record-breaking Kent)

Hi Jack, I sent this by pressing reply and see amongst my messages today
there is no message on
the RFW site again.
Can you try and forward this reply from me as it should really help that
lady.
I would love to know what I am doing wrong. All I did was press reply so I
have definitely
not typed in the email address.
Any thoughts as each time I am replying now my messages do not get thru it
seems.
Thanks a lot Jack. Kind regards, Colleen
