Hi everyone....

I am new and was told to jump in with both feet so here goes....

I am researching abroad for the first time so need lots of direction...if I get off the track please bring back.

I am researching my WARK family..and here is where I have ended up and here is how I got here...

John WARK [my 3rd great grandfather] married Janet FORSAN December 25, 1829 in Jedburgh, Roxburgh [according to the LDS online IGI records] They had six children before 1848; John, 1834; Magdalene, 1838; Isabella, 1840; Thomas, 1842; Elizabeth, 1845; and Margaret, 1848.

They all sailed from Edinburgh about 1851 and landed in Canada and settled in Caradoc, Middlesex, Ontario, Canada. Their son John married Jane/Jean IRELAND [dau. of William and Jean (BISHOP) IRELAND] who was born probably in Lanark, Scotland. They moved to Michigan, USA in 1871.

Anyone know this family? Anyone else researching any of the WARK families?

Another question.... the films that can be ordered from LDS ... is there more information in the filmed records than there is on the online site records? and how difficult is it to research abroad?

Sorry to be so uninformed...but just don't know...

Thanks for your time....
