Hi,

I've fallen over a John JAMESON and wife Isabella SMITH who were resident in
South Australia in the mid to late 1800s.
John was apparently born in Shetland in 1856, son of John. SA John was a
seaman and lighthouse keeper for a while at Cape Jaffa (coincidentally I
received the SA genie mag this week with a review of new booklet on this
lighthouse and a Tamar GARDNER, the wife of a lighthouse keeper died there
in 8/1/1881. Haven't cracked this one yet but I'm working on it!).

Isabella was also of Shetland stock, though born in SA. Parents were
Lawrence SMITH and Elizabeth FLAWS, who according to the IGI married in
Dunrossness in 1851. Local info says they were married in Levenwick. There
is a large biographical entry on them in the Biographical Index of South
Australia so clearly someone is researching this family. This couple came
out on the Charlotte Jane, on which my great great grandma Marion Winwick
also came.

Both couples had a tribe of kids in SA, so if anyone wants any further info
on either set let me know and I'll send it on.
