> I have found a article on the shetland today site (lots of interesting
articles worth looking at) regarding a court case of Andrew Strachan of Ham
in Bressay . I would like to ascertain whether this could be my gg
grandfather who was born in 1839 Rathen. Andrew brought his family to
Bressay from Fraserburgh around 1880 when the fishing station was set up at
Ham.
As Linda said hes the only one in Bressay at that time. Do you know where
and when Andrew died. Several of his children settled and had families in
Bressay, I would be interested to know which was your ancestor.
The last couple of years we have been expanding our research to include all
Bressay and Nesting families. (its simpler that way!)

Barbara
