Many thanks indeed and well guessed there, Robyn. Ann was a first cousin
to Gilbert Beattie and later became his sister-in-law when he married,
as his second wife, her sister Jane Beattie.
Ann I knew about from Norah's book and knew her husband's name. The
combination means that I now know descendants in Adelaide in Tasmania. I
had not had this comment from the records, though. Some one could write,
because her father knew of her marriage in Adelaide - he told the poor
law as much when he applied for relief in the early 1880s.
